I Might (My Mind)
Imagine a future, one that we made
It could all be beautiful
We were the seed and then came the rain
Brought on by the eagle
But what if I change
I might
But what if I change
My mind, I might
I’ve got it in my head that I haven’t started yet
Seasons or migrations
A hemlock hymn song
Voices from the cracks in the pavement
But what if I change
I might
But what if I change
My mind, I might
Here’s a demo of a new tune I’ve been working on. I rarely start writing a song with a guitar part, but this time I did and, with some trials, I think I kept the sparse beauty of the part without cluttering it too much. I hope🤞🏼
I’m not sure this song needs much of an explanation - so I guess that’s what you get as far as editorial notes on this one :)
I’m currently reading an extended essay about Oranges. It’s pretty wonderful. Went for the first Washington hike of the year - hence the photo. Been mulling over the line: “I have, before, been tricked into believing I could be both an I and the world” by the wonderful Ada Limon. I’m sure all of that is rattling around somewhere in this song…
Thanks, as always for listening.
